Senior Japanese

Despite being a somewhat difficult language to learn, Japanese is still one of the most popular foreign languages.  Japan is a beautiful country with fascinating culture and spectacular scenery and there are many reasons why students choose to undertake this subject in Senior.

Firstly, Japan’s influence on the global economy is strong.  Japan’s electronic and automotive industries are known for their excellent products.  Knowing Japanese will of course improve your chances of getting hired either with one of their companies having offices in Australia, or with Australian companies trading with Japan.

Secondly, just passing Japanese will earn you bonus credit towards your University entrance.  Nearly all Universities are participating in the bonus points for languages initiative as Australia strives to overcome its monolingual shortcomings.

Lastly, many Australians have become almost addicted to Japanese anime and manga and tune in to watch the J Pop music charts weekly.  Japanese culture is quirky and fun.

Learning Japanese in senior sets you up to become international citizens, make lifelong friends with a skill that Australia is in desperate need for – language learners.
